The second stage will renovate the tomb and embellish its surrounding area.
Located in Thuong Hai Hamlet of Thuy Xuan Commune, the tomb of the ninth king of Nguyen Dynasty (1802-1945) was built in 1888 and renovated several times until 1923.
It is part of the Nguyen dynasty’s complex of royal tombs in the old imperial capital of Hue, recognized as a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO in 1993.
The tomb of King Dong Khanh has been closed to the public for several years owing to its rundown condition.
