Every form of migration and related issues are present in the mentioned region, particularly labour market-led intra-regional and extra-regional migration, smuggling and trafficking in persons, and irregular migrants. Existing theories often fail to explain the everyday emerging dynamics of migration in the region. As such existing polices are also in most cases deficient in managing population migration. Therefore, this panel’s primary objectives would be to grapple with major issues of migration policies and management. By the beginning of the twenty-first century, more than two million women were estimated to be working in the
region. By 2050 the world will see more than 200 million climate refugees, and majority will be from this region. Therefore, this issues merit renewed attention. It is believed that this event would be a significant platform to get together a bunch of migration scholars to discuss this issue.
